Consultants supporting my practice

Mr Tollafield works with a number of medical professionals who support his practise

Dr Catherine (Nike) Akinwale, Consultant Anaesthetist & Clinical Director

She graduated in 1988  from the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos (MB BS) and moved to England and trained as an anaesthetist in the South West Thames (St George’s Hospital, London) School of Anaesthesia. (FRCA). Her qualifications are MB BS, FRCA (Fellowship of The Royal College of Anaesthetists).
She has been a consultant anaesthetist for the last 16 years, 11 of those for the NHS at the Manor Hospital in Walsall, where she works presently and is Clinical Director in Anaesthetics. She has been at Spire Little Aston Hospital for 9 years. Areas of specialisation include
  • Orthopaedics
  • Obstetrics
  • Vascular
  • Paediatrics
  • Podiatric Surgery
She has been working with David Tollafield since 2006. Their surgery is balanced with quality general anaesthetic with low (audited) levels of post operative sickness. Sedation is used to support patients suited to local anaesthetics to help with anxiety and needle phobia. All patients are consulted where required before surgery to ensure medical safety. After surgery, pain management is tailored to suit patient requirements.
Anaesthetist costings for insurance companies
Insurers frequently ask how much the anaesthetist charges. Once Mr Tollafield has provided you with the surgery code, please contact Dr Akinwale, or Jenny, her secretary to be given the cost.
